The mid-segment smartphone market is a crowded space, with many brands jostling for attention. Vivo recently introduced the Vivo V60, yet another smartphone that promises cutting-edge photography, performance, and a stunning new design. For the review, I got the V60 in Moonlight Blue. When I first unboxed the device, I was captivated by its elegance, especially the shimmering back panel, which does justice to the name. The panel is fluid, reflective, and looks ethereal.
At a glance, the finish feels premium and subtle in contrast to the more ostentatious devices in recent times. I have been using the Vivo V60 for the past few weeks, and here’s my take on where the device shines and where it stumbles.
Display, build, and design
The Vivo V60 can be ranked among the slimmest smartphones with a 6,500 mAh battery. And it definitely feels lighter and slimmer to hold, and at 7.75 mm thickness, it is an impressively thin frame to house such a large battery. When it comes to the display, the device sports thin bezels, and the slightly curved edges offer a natural visual flow. Be it watching videos or simply scrolling through Instagram Reels, the visuals feel immersive.
The device comes with a slightly curved screen. While curved displays do come with certain trade-offs in the form of accidental touches, Vivo’s software optimisations make them easy to use. The 6.7-inch AMOLED display is versatile and comes with P3 wide colour gamut.

Perhaps the 5,000 nits of peak brightness is one of the device’s strongest suits. The high peak brightness ensures outdoor legibility. On the other hand, the colours look slightly saturated, yet eye-pleasing. The vivo V60’s display is made for content consumption. The phone comes with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, going beyond most phones, which usually stop at IP68.

How good is the performance?
Under the hood, the Vivo V60 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The device comes with 8 GB and 16 GB RAM and storage between 128 GB and 512 GB. During everyday use, the phone is snappy and reliable, as apps open swiftly and gaming performance is impressive.
Even though benchmarks are not everything, Vivo claims the device has over a million in Antutu scores. During my use, I found the device to be on par with some prominent flagships from 2024. With its promise of four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, the Vivo V60 brings alongside the likes of Samsung and Google devices that offer unmatched longevity. It simply means the Vivo V60 could simply delay your phone upgrade cycle.
When it comes to software, the phone comes with FunTouchOS. It also features an AI suite with abilities like AI captions, reflection removal, spam call blocking and Circle to Search.

One of the most notable features of the Vivo V60 is its ZEISS-branded triple camera system. It has a standout 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The cameras produce sharp images during daylight with output on par with flagship-grade cameras. The 50 MP main camera equally excels at capturing vivid images and is aided by Vivo’s VCS spectrum technology that boosts colour accuracy.
The 50 MP main camera (Sony IMX766) is equally strong, with vivo’s VCS spectrum technology boosting colour accuracy. The phone offers brilliant low-light performance with minimal noise and remarkable dynamic range. It also features an 8 MP ultra-wide, which offers decent output. For those interested in portraits, Vivo offers ZEISS bokeh styles – Distagon, Biotar, Planar, Sonnar, etc. Below are some unfiltered image samples:

The front camera has a 50 MP lens and is quite impressive. The cameras, both primary and secondary, come with autofocus, a wide field of view, and 4K video, making it a great device to create short videos. When it comes to vlogs, Vivo has also included an India-exclusive wedding vlog mode that automatically combines clips to make cinematic montages.
Battery and charging
This has to be that one area where the Vivo V60 truly shines. It’s after a really long time that I got my hands on a device with long battery life even after heavy use. The V60 packs a 6,500 mAh battery, and on most days I still had 30-40 per cent charge left. With lighter use, the device could easily stretch for two full days, which is a notable feat for a modern smartphone. The V60 ships with a 90W FlashCharge, which allows you to charge the phone from 0 per cent to 50 per cent in under 25 minutes. The device does not have wireless charging, though.

Should you buy the Vivo V60?
The Vivo V60 strikes a balance between elegance and durability, offering standout design, a long-lasting 6,500 mAh battery, and capable ZEISS-branded cameras. Priced between Rs 36,999 and Rs 45,999, it faces stiff competition from rivals like the iQOO Neo 10 – which offers Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 performance and a larger 7,000 mAh battery – and the OnePlus 13R, which brings the power of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 6,000 mAh battery at a similar price. Still, for users who prioritise camera quality, battery life, and a sleek form factor, the Vivo V60 holds its own as a distinctive smartphone.
