A beloved bald eagle who gained popularity after incubating a rock is mourned after dying from head trauma sustained during violent storms in Missouri last week. Murphy, a male, bald eagle who surpassed the average life span of 25 years, died at the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park, Missouri. Sanctuary officials believe the violent storms that ripped apart homes and claimed 12 lives in the state last weekend may have played a factor in the bird’s death.
