Congressional passage of a massive bill cuts billions of dollars in spending across many areas including clean energy. The legislation headed Thursday to President Trump will ultimately affect consumers and the way the nation addresses climate change. Over the past several months, Republicans in Congress targeted many of the credits for wind, solar and other clean energy technologies that Democrats approved in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act under former President Joe Biden. Experts say the bill will drive up household energy costs for consumers as well as clean energy technologies they might buy.
