British technology company Dyson, on Thursday, September 4, unveiled 11 new products across categories – from home cleaning to air purification and personal care. The latest line of products were introduced at a global launch event in Berlin, Germany, where founder James Dyson drove up to the company’s Demo Store in a vintage Min.
The launch of Dyson PencilVac, dubbed as the world’s slimmest vacuum cleaner at just 38mm in diametre, was among the main highlights of the event. The PencilVac is powered by Dyson’s new compact Hyperdymium 140k motor, and it features dual laser-like green light, app connectivity, a hygienic syringe bin ejection system, a new conical brush-base head designed to self-remove hair and debris.
“We are very keen on making things smaller and smaller, lighter and lighter, while dramatically improving performance. I have long wanted to make a vacuum of only 38mm diameter – which is the optimal diameter to hold and the same as our latest hair dryer, the Supersonic r and our other hair tools,” said Sir James Dyson.
The British inventor further said that for the PencilVac, the company needed to develop its most powerful and smallest motor. “The faster the motor, the smaller, lighter, and more efficient it can be and the fewer materials it uses. Our new Hyperdymium motor is only 28mm in diameter and spins at 140,000RPM.”
He also presented the V8 Cyclone cordless vacuum, which is an upgrade of its 2016 model. It comes with 30 per cent more suction power and up to 60 minutes of run time. On the other hand, the Dyson V16 Piston Animal promises whole-home cleaning with 315 air watts of suction, anti-tangle brush bars, a 30-day dust bin capacity, and a wet-roller head for washing floor.
Meanwhile, other launches include Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene (a filter-free wet and dry cleaner), the Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai robot vacuum with AI stain detection and obstacle recognition, and the Dyson HushJet Purifier Compact – a quieter and smaller purifier that offers 80 per cent of the performance of the flagship Big+Quiet purifier.

Another notable announcement was the Omega Nourishing Range, Dyson’s first hair care line infused with omega-rich oils harvested from Dyson’s own farms in Lincolnshire, UK.
“Over the years we have re-imagined the format of products through design, technology and state-of-the-art research. Developing new technology motors, heaters, separation systems and aerodynamics has enabled us to radically change the format yet make high performing products,” said Dyson.
The new products will roll out globally, with India launch dates to be announced later.
