Apple is all set to refresh its lineup of smartwatches on September 9, alongside its flagship iPhone series. This launch also includes the Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and a new Apple Watch SE. After a quiet year for the Watch Ultra, the new models are expected to get a few major upgrades, including a larger screen.
Apple is also reportedly planning to introduce new health features such as hypertension detection, and a new subscription-based Health+ service powered by AI. The company’s new AirPods Pro 3 is also expected to be released at the ‘Awe Dropping’ launch event, with rumoured features such as a heart rate monitor.
Here is everything you need to know.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
Apple reportedly has a major update planned for this year after a break from updating the Apple Watch Ultra last year. Along with a rumoured new S11 chip, support for 5G RedCap connectivity through a new modem, and the ability to use Apple’s satellite feature for text messaging and emergency communications, the latest smartwatch is expected to sport a slightly larger screen that aims to match the display size of the previous year’s Apple Watch Series 10. This next model may help Apple surpass Garmin, which introduced some new wearables earlier this week.
Apple Watch Series 11
Even if the Series 10 from last year didn’t seem very different, the company considered it to be a complete redesign. With Apple maintaining the same design, adding a new screen with increased brightness, changing the colour (the Jet Black Series 10, for example, had chipping issues), and offering more band options, this year’s Series 11 probably won’t see major changes.
Apple Watch SE
The Apple Watch SE, resembling models from 2020 before the switch to larger screens, is likely to be upgraded with a faster CPU and fresher screens. Apple has been promoting this device as a more affordable smartphone alternative for younger children, aiming to compete with companies like Fitbit.
Additional features that might be integrated into the watches: For years, there have been plans for more advanced features, such as hypertension detection, but they encountered technical and legal obstacles. However, rumours now suggest that these watches may include this feature this year. Rumours also indicate that Apple intends to launch a premium Health+ service with an AI health agent next year.
AirPods Pro 3
The AirPods Pro 3 is expected to be updated for the first time in three years by Apple, with plans to release the device as early as this month. Similar to Powerbeats, released earlier this year, Apple has reportedly tested adding a heart rate monitor for this update.

A significant new software feature that is reportedly in the works is real-time translation via AirPods. This will build on the translation capabilities introduced by Apple Intelligence on the iPhone and iPad in iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. The new models are likely to include upgraded charging cases that are significantly smaller and feature a new pairing mechanism, similar to the one introduced last year with the AirPods 4 lineup.
