A Soyuz capsule carrying two Russian cosmonauts and one American astronaut safely landed Sunday in Kazakhstan, concluding a 220-day mission aboard the International Space Station. Roscosmos said the capsule, carrying Alexey Ovchinin, Ivan Vagner, and NASA astronaut Don Pettit, touched down near Zhezkazgan at 6:20 a.m. (0120 GMT) after a smooth, parachute-assisted descent. The crew orbited Earth 3,520 times. Post-landing medical checks are underway. Pettit will return to Houston, while the Russian cosmonauts will go to Star City, Russia. Command of the ISS was handed to Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi on Friday.
