A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has shaken eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistan border. The epicenter of the quake late Sunday was near the city of Jalalabad in Nangarhar province. A spokesman for the Nangarhar Public Health Department said 15 people were injured and taken to a hospital. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered about 17 miles east-northeast of the city and was just 5 miles deep. Shallower quakes tend to cause more damage.
