Warzone Season 3 Reloaded drops several mysterious easter eggs into Verdansk

Read Time:4 Minute, 28 Second

From the mysterious red doors to the infamous Stadium keycards, the early iterations of Verdansk before its removal from Call of Duty Warzone contained several interactive easter eggs that were not only a challenge to solve, but could also land you great loot or exclusive weapon blueprints. Following Verdansk’s return at the start of Season 3 a few weeks ago, there were a few visual easter eggs and nods to the map’s history for players to stumble across, but no elaborate puzzles. Well, that’s changed with the rollout of Season 3 Reloaded, as there are now a few interactive Warzone easter eggs that you can get stuck into.

Watching content creators and Call of Duty sleuths race to uncover new easter eggs after every Warzone update remains a core Verdansk memory for me. Hearing that there are several new secrets to find in Season 3 Reloaded is making me just as nostalgic and giddy as when Verdansk returned at the beginning of the season. From some returning classics to some totally new easter eggs, here’s what people have found so far in the battle royale game.

First up, let’s talk about the bank vault. In Downtown, if you head into the bank, you’ll notice an imposing vault door – well, now you can crack it open. All you have to do is find the Biometric Scanner, a wall-mounted panel that spawns in random locations inside the bank. Interact with it, and it’ll drop a Hardware Gift Card item. Next, head to any Buy Station, and trade in your Hardware Gift Card. In exchange, you’ll receive the Diamond Bit Drill. Pick it up off the ground, and take it back to the bank vault door. Interact with the door, and the drill will begin cracking it open for you. While I was hoping a blueprint might be on offer for doing this easter egg, you will instead be rewarded with loads of cash and loot on the floor.

Here’s a weird new secret that will get you some gear as well. Head to Prison and explore all of the cells, because an image of several floating doors will spawn in one of them. Five of the doors will be circled in red pen, ranging from a small circle to a large circle. Interact the image and you’ll hear a chime (it might be worth screenshotting the image too). Then, proceed to the grid reference written on the image, which should be I8 right in the bottom corner of the map behind Prison. Look out into the distance and you should see the same floating doors from the image hovering in the sky.

Shoot the ones that were circled in the image, but make sure it’s in order from the smallest circle to the largest. Another chime will sound if you do it correctly, and a care package will drop nearby that’s got some high-tier loot inside.

More loot can be found by heading to three shacks – one near to TV Station, one inside a barn in Farmland, and one out in the open space between Prison and Port. They all have keypad-locked doors on them. This is a throwback to an easter egg from the original Verdansk, and the process is pretty much the same – however, the original keypad codes have been reversed. Pop in the correct code, and enjoy the loot inside.

The map below from ‘CovertMF’ shows you where to find them and gives you the new codes.

While no actual loot is on offer for this one (and it could send you to the Gulag if you’re not careful) there’s also a great little easter egg involving a secret room in Storage Town. First, head to the very edge of the map in the far northeast corner of the map by Quarry. Lying a few metres out of bounds, you’ll find a sleeping bag, an axe, and a crate lying on the grass. If you’re swift, you can run over to it, open the crate, and grab an item called the Mysterious Key before the out of bounds timer eliminates you.

This key will unlock the sealed room in Storage Town, but beware – it’s full of booby traps, so make sure you disarm them (or have a teammate around to revive you) when you enter. At the end of the room, you’ll find a laptop and a note that simply reads: ‘I will not die a traitor.’

There are probably loads more little secrets to find in Verdansk following the update, and I’m hoping that more multi-step puzzles are on the way in future seasons. Props to the likes of CovertMF and ‘KillerStidge’ who have been uncovering these easter eggs over the last 24 hours or so.
