When is the next Zenless Zone Zero update?
The Zenless Zone Zero 2.1 update release date is Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Before a new update, the game goes into maintenance for a few hours. If you’ve reached level four or higher by the time a maintenance period concludes, you receive a minimum of 300 polychrome in your in-game mailbox as compensation for the game’s downtime.
When’s the next Zenless Zone Zero livestream?
The Zenless Zone Zero 2.1 livestream goes live on Friday, July 4, at 19:30 (UTC+8). You can watch it on the official Zenless Zone Zero Twitch and YouTube channels.

What are the Zenless Zone Zero 2.1 update banners?
The banners in the ZZZ 2.0 update feature the new characters Yixuan, Pan Yinhu, and Ju Fufu, alongside reruns of Caesar and Astra Yao.

Are there any new quests in Zenless Zone Zero update 2.1?
ZZZ update 2.1 features the new main story quest, ‘The Impending Crash of Waves’. This quest takes place in the aftermath of the Exaltists incident, introducing a crucial milestone that bridges the past and the future. Trouble’s brewing in the Waifei Peninsulam, as tensions between the military and TOPS continue to rise, and you find yourself teaming up with Alice, a member of Porcelumex’s Inspection Team, on a very important mission.
After a lot of tension, you’re going to want to unwind. Luckily, following 2.1’s main story, there’s a follow-up quest introducing the new Fantasy Resort. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely holiday and witness the first meet-up of the different factions from the Spook Shack forum. This forum is dedicated to sharing and solving supernatural mysteries and unexplained phenomena. It may be summer, but there’s still room for spooks!
Is there a new area in the ZZZ 2.1 update?
The ZZZ 2.1 update introduces two new areas – Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. Sailume Bay sits on the coast beneath the cliffs of Failume Heights, and has a very long history. The standard of life for the citizens living here has always been significantly lower, with many of its locals scaping by on odd jobs or scavenging Porcelume waste from the Hollow to make a living. It’s a very important place in the main story of 2.1, so you’ll become pretty familiar with this place soon enough.
On the other hand, Fantasy Resort is located in Throne Quarter, set on a summery beach with loungers, shacks, and stunning coastal scenery that just screams ‘vacation time!’ This is where most of this update’s themed events take place, so be sure to grab your sunscreen and beach towel.
On top of both of these, you’ll also find yourself exploring the mountain paths of Waifei Peninsula in the story, and you’ll encounter two new areas within the Lemnian Hollow, where several new monsters lay in wait.
Are there any new skins in the ZZZ 2.1 update?
The ZZZ 2.0 update introduces summer skins for Belle, Wise, Alice, and Ukinami Yuzuha. You can get Belle and Wise’s summer skins for free by completing commissions in the ‘Tales of Midsummer Dreams’ event, while you can purchase Ukinami Yuzuha and Alice’s skins from the in-game shop.
Are there any ZZZ 2.1 optimizations?
Hoyoverse is listening to your feedback and preparing new optimizations for each update. Here’s a brief summary of the optimizations coming in ZZZ’s 2.1 update:
- Expanded customization freedom for controller buttons
- Improvements to joystick sensitivity and visual appearance for the shortcut wheel
- Added guiding lines on the minimap leading to your target destination, as well as a pin function for the quick travel interface
- Improvements to the Subian Temple gameplay including adding the item’s corresponding price to the crafting interface, more intuitive sorting in the crafting menus, and more
- Added three new accessories to the Subian Temple
- You can now zoom in and rotate agents when you view their different skins
- You can now bypass the buff at the beginning of Notorius Hunt stages to save time
- Optimizations to the compendium, including reducing the requirements for Proxy Legend trials and introducing a new trial, altering the display order of daily errands to make them more convenient, and more
- The agent select screen now groups agents together by faction and arranges them according to rarity

What are the Zenless Zone Zero 2.1 update events?
As always, there are a heap of new events in version 2.1, including a bunch of freebies for the ZZZ anniversary.
Here’s a brief overview of the events coming in the ZZZ 2.1 update:
- Tales of Midsummer Dreams – help the resort return to its former glory by setting up (and enjoying) a variety of attractions and activities
- “Eh-Nah” Chess Legend – a chess-inspired Bangboo strategy game
- Endless Tower: Glory – a combat challenge where you must show off your slick moves and skills
- Ghost Ship Adventure – a combat challenge slash treasure-hunting adventure
- Jojo’s Space Mystery – explore Lemnian hollow in search of extraterrestrial life
- Failume Summer Puzzle! – a photo restoration minigame where you piece together puzzles
- Legend of the Marvelous Fish Stall – log in every day and spend battery charge to claim goodies and save Sharkboo from the stall
- Advanced Bounty: Routine Cleanup – claim double rewards from routine cleanup challenges
- Data Bounty: Combat Simulation – claim double rewards from combat simulation challenges
