How to find water in Grounded 2, get a dew collector, and craft a canteen

Read Time:2 Minute, 59 Second

How do you get water in Grounded 2? It’s hot out there in the park. When you’re the literal size of an ant, even small spills can become veritable lagoons. But sources you’d otherwise consider as dry as the desert can become viable ways to sustain yourself and your teammates for days. You just need to know where to find water in Grounded 2, and how to drink it.

If you’ve been surviving off murky water run-offs this whole time, you’re likely new to the Grounded 2 park. There’s plenty of fresh water to keep you going – and even some soda and juice if you know where to look. To keep your hydration up while exploring the survival game, here’s where to find fresh water, juice, and soda drops.

A single drop of Grounded 2 water sits on a blade of grass, an autumnal pine tree looms in the distance.

While you can drink stagnant water from puddles, it’ll make you sick. Instead, look for water drops hanging from grass blades. These dewdrops are more common during the late night and early morning.

You can knock dewdrops off grass, but it can cause them to roll away or even dissipate. Some might be low enough to jump to, allowing you to drink them straight from the blade, so it’s worth trying this first.

If you’re waking up late, that dew might have fallen to the floor. Turn your attention to the ground and look for large droplets on the surface. Similarly, drops of water can be found tumbling from other sources, such as hydrants and sprinklers.

You’ll get first-hand experience of this if you set up shop outside the first major lab. Each morning, a single drop will fall from the faucet above the Ranger Outpost entrance, sustaining your early adventures with ease and removing the need to slurp from the nearby swamp.

How to get a Grounded 2 canteen

Once you progress further into the game, however, you’ll want to craft and carry at least one canteen, in which you can carry up to two drops of water in case of emergencies.

To unlock the canteen to collect water in Grounded 2, you simply must research a Grub Hide at an analyzer. This can be done fairly early on, as grubs are found hidden under the ground, and can be dug up with your Omni-Shovel when you see movement under the dirt.

Once unlocked, the canteen can be crafted with three Grub Hide and two Crude Rope. Equip it and use it on drops of water to fill it.

How to craft a dew collector

For a constant supply of water to keep your canteen filled, you should erect a dew collector at your base. To unlock the dew collector, first, analyze web fiber. You can then craft the dew collector with five Crude Rope, six Weed Stems, eight Pebblets, and five Silk Rope.

The dew collector slowly gathers up to four water drops at a time, and these can either be consumed straight from the collector or used to fill your canteen. In fact, if you’re playing alone, four drops is perfect for doing both at once before you head out into the wild.

Now that you know how to get water in Grounded 2, dehydration shouldn’t be the most dangerous part of living life among the gnats and the ants. With key survival checked off the list, read up on how to get blueberries. You’ll want to know how to get lingonberries, too. Both are used to upgrade the ever-useful Omni-Tool.
