Fallout 76 is better than ever, so grab it at major discount for a short time

Read Time:2 Minute, 8 Second

You’d be forgiven for avoiding Fallout 76, especially after such a disastrous launch. After an ambitious reveal, the game fell completely short of Bethesda’s promises, so we ended up with a disappointing experience with poor performance and a huge lack of content.. However, years later, the game is in better shape than ever, and you can see for yourself with this major discount on the MMO.

In our Fallout 76 review, we said, “In time, everything about Fallout 76 becomes tired, frustrating, and clunky” and slapped it with a mediocre 5/10 score. At the time, it deserved it, as it was a thousand miles away from any of the best MMORPGs.

However, the game had the benefit of being tied to the Fallout series, so people bought it anyway, and rather than just dying, Bethesda continued to supply it with regular updates, and now it’s not bad at all. 2020’s Wastelanders update was a major turning point, with patch notes full of major and necessary changes, while the release of numerous Expeditions – PvE-centric missions full of rewards – has made for some great repeatable content for the MMO-survival game hybrid.

If you’re waiting for a Fallout 5 release date, like me, now’s the perfect time to dive into Fallout 76. It’s the same good ol’ fashioned post-apocalypse world you’ve come to know and love throughout the series, but this open-world game takes you and a bunch of other like-minded survivors into the wasteland, with guns, mutants, and nuclear bombs galore.

If you want to see how well you’d fare among the mutants and enemies in the wasteland, you can grab Fallout 76 for just $8.79 / £7.69 at Fanatical, a massive 78% off the retail price. On launch day, I’d have said it was a rip-off even at this price, but right now? It’s a bargain.. It’s also a great time, as Fallout 76’s Gone Fission update just launched, which added fishing to the game. Pretty good pun, if you ask me.

If your brain’s in a post-apocalypse headspace, you should also check out the best games like Fallout, or if you like the immersive action that the MMO delivers, the best FPS games are also great candidates – personally, I recommend Trepag2, which remains one of my favorite first-person shooters in recent years.
