The day is finally upon us – it’s time for the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. We’ve been waiting for this special livestream since the Switch 2’s initial reveal back in January, and it didn’t disappoint.
Nintendo revealed some massive new titles, including Mario Kart World, and went into detail on a range of fresh features for the Nintendo Switch 2. You can see all of the announcements in our round-up below.
Where can I watch the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
You can watch the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on Nintendo’s official website. You can also watch the livestream on YouTube below.

Now, here are all of the announcements from the April 2025 Nintendo Direct:

Mario Kart World
The rumors were true – we’re getting a new Mario Kart title! The trailer shows off a bunch of new features, including outfit changes, boats, and a range of new playable characters like the cow from Moo Moo Meadows.
We thought the game would be Mario Kart 9, but it’s Mario Kart World, suggesting something much bigger than everyone anticipated, and the global settings seemingly draw on Mario Kart Tour’s existing tracks.
Races are even bigger, with 24 racers on each track, battling for dominance across open-world tracks with dynamic weather systems. If you prefer just taking a scenic drive, you can use free roam mode to explore the new tracks at your leisure.
GameChat
Nintendo has finally introduced voice chat to its games, but not in the traditional way. GameChat functions like an in-build Discord call, letting you chat with friends, share screens, and even use a special Nintendo Switch camera to chat face-to-face.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 edition
This is a re-released version of the most recent Mario Party game with Switch 2-specific features added. You can use the Nintendo Switch 2 camera to chat face-to-face, use mouse controls with the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, and even use voice recognition to play certain minigames.
Some minigames now have full-body motion controls tied to the camera, similar to the PlayStation’s EyeToy or the Xbox Kinect camera of the past. The game launches on July 24, 2025, and if you already own it, you can buy an upgrade pass to get the Jamboree TV features on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Switch 2 editions
Similarly to Super Mario Party Jamboree, you can play an upgraded version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on the Switch 2. There are new Zelda Notes features on the Switch app that let you navigate Hyrule with voice directions and share your creations via QR code.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A are all getting upgraded Switch 2 editions.
Drag x Drive
This brand-new Switch 2 title lets you make use of the Joy-Con 2’s mouse capability to play immersive three-on-three wheelchair basketball games with full motion controls. You can even wave to your teammates! The game launches in the summer of 2025.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition
Now, this is surprising! FromSoftware is bringing Elden Ring to the Nintendo Switch 2. Take on the epic quest to become the Elden Lord from the comfort of your couch in 2025.
Hades 2
The highly anticipated sequel to Supergiant’s roguelike Hades is coming to the Switch 2. You don’t need to have played the first game to enjoy this brand-new story, but we highly recommend it.
Street Fighter 6
Capcom brings its critically acclaimed fighting series to the Switch 2 for tons of local battle fun. There are brand-new, exclusive modes and a deluxe edition featuring 26 playable characters from the first two years of release. The game, three amiibo figures, and a range of amiibo cards all launch alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion
If you’re a fan of mechs, you’re going to want to check out Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion. Marvelous’ sci-fi epic launches on September 5, 2025.
Split Fiction
Couch co-op fans, rejoice! Hazelight’s award-winning multiplayer adventure Split Fiction is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on launch day. Play as Zoe and Mio, two indie writers with wildly different life experiences and genre preferences, as they fight to survive through their own creations.
EA Sports
EA Sports is bringing both EA Sports FC and Madden NFL to the Switch 2, so you can continue to up your football and soccer game on the new console.
Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is teleporting onto the Nintendo Switch 2, along with enhanced graphics and seamless world transitions. Start your wizarding journey at Hogwarts and learn what kind of witch or wizard you were meant to be. It even supports mouse controls for enhanced broom controls and will be available on the console’s launch day.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4
Get ready to grind, ollie, and kickflip with enhanced visuals as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 comes to the Switch 2. Skate as Nora Vasconcellos through real and wacky skate parks this summer. Is that Bikini Bottom?
