Don’t miss your chance to get Horizon Forbidden West at almost half price

Read Time:2 Minute, 30 Second

You might remember developers Guerrilla Games for their work on the Killzone franchise or, I dunno, a little game called Horizon Forbidden West. I kid, of course, there is nothing “little” about Horizon Forbidden West. The map is bigger, the weapons are better, and the machines are even more… machiney. What’s better is this post-apocalyptic Monster Hunter in disguise is currently 47% off over Fantaical.

Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most gorgeous-looking open-world games I have encountered. This sprawling action RRG game follows protagonist Aloy. She is an absolute badass! This game picks up six months after the events of Horizon Zero Dawn. If you’ve played the first, but it’s been a while, I recommend watching a YouTube video to bring you up to speed. The fast-spreading plant infestation known as the Red Blight takes you, Aloy, to an uncharted frontier known as the Forbidden West- Ha, that’s the name of this game- in an attempt to stop the blight and save the world. It’s a compelling story with massive stakes!

As you journey into the Forbidden West, you’ll encounter hostile tribes, the red blight, and, of course, the machines! Forbidden West ramps up the artificial wildlife, introducing more diverse and dangerous robotic beasties on an even bigger scale. I love the design of the Slitherfang, a massive snake “creature” which deals electric blows and shoots acid. Then you’ve also got the trickier badies like the Sunwing, a solar-powered flying machine which can be difficult to dodge at the best of times. Each machine is a puzzle. Like Monster Hunter, you’ll need to target specific weak points, and this is where strategy comes in. If you don’t have a decent plan, you won’t defeat it.

Can we also talk about how beautiful this game is? In our Forbidden West review we said the game offers “a huge variety of biomes and intriguing sites both big and small to explore, this world cries out to be explored and soaked up.” We also added, “you watch robots snuffle around in the brush, the sun bursting out of clouds above to be reflected in glinting azure waters.” Honestly, if you don’t believe us when we say how beautiful this game is, go and see for yourself.

If you’d like to slay some robotic monsters, you’ve got until Thursday, July 10, 2025, to get Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition for just $32.09/£26.74. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Fanatical and stop the Red Blight before it engulfs the entire planet!
