Playing with your friends, no matter what platform you prefer, is commonplace in multiplayer titles these days. However, not every new release is graced with this feature. Does Rematch have crossplay?

No, Rematch doesn’t have crossplay right now, but developer Sloclap promises to bring it to the game in a future update. The only form of Rematch crossplay that currently exists is through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as Xbox console owners and PC players can play together this way. So, we’re not really counting that. If you try to play with friends on the Steam Deck or PlayStation 5 versions, you won’t be able to join players on other platforms.

Is crossplay coming to Rematch?

Yes, crossplay is confirmed for Rematch. In a launch blog post, Sloclap expresses that “we did our utmost to include crossplay at launch, but Rematch is the studio’s first crossplay title, and we faced unforeseen technical complexities which prevented us from having this feature ready in time.”

Despite the feature not appearing at the game’s launch, Sloclap says that “crossplay is our absolute highest priority […] we already have a basic working version from a technical standpoint, but we need to implement the relevant interfaces, before debugging and polishing it, and finally passing console certifications successfully.”
