Ahead of Doom The Dark Ages, the earlier games are 85% off

What better way to pass the time waiting for Doom: The Dark Ages than playing through all the mainline Doom games? Well, Humble’s latest bundle offers you the chance to do just that – at a major discount. Humble’s The id and Friends bundle packs in every mainline Doom game, three Wolfenstein games, and discount coupons for Doom: The Dark Ages for as little as $28 / £21.16. Battling through hordes of demons has never sounded so appealing.

With Doom: The Dark Ages due to release on Thursday, May 15, there’s not long to wait until the Doom Slayer (AKA Doomguy) slips into his hulking, blood-soaked armor again. Well, technically he’s slipping into it for the first time, as the next entry in this lauded FPS game series is a prequel that takes us back to the techno-medieval war against hell and explores where all his notorious rage actually comes from.

As the super weapon of gods and kings, Doomguy will rip through hordes of hell’s finest demons using iconic weapons like his Super Shotgun, but there are plenty of new, devastating toys at his disposal, too, including the bone-chewing Shield Saw. Of course, all this is set to an adrenaline-pumping metal soundtrack that will have you shouting “Who’s next then?!” at your screen.

In PCGamesnN’s Doom: The Dark Ages preview, Jamie Hore praised the “heavy and crunch” combat, and called the new Doom a “meaty, satisfying, stunning shooter.” I’m pumped for the Doom Slayer’s next outing, and if you are too, this Humble Bundle deal is well worth your time as it not only gives you a discount on Doom: The Dark Ages but offers the entire Doom collection to play while you wait for its release.

Humble’s id and Friends bundle packs one hell of a punch, offering 11 products (technically 12 if you count Doom and Doom 2 separately), for as little as $28 / £21.16. For that price, you get three Wolfenstein titles, discount codes for The Dark Ages, a Year One Pass for Doom Eternal, and all the mainline Doom games. This bundle is usually valued at $194 / £145.81, but with this deal, you get the whole lot for up to $166 / £124.65 off.

Here’s the full list of products included in this brilliant bundle:

  • Doom 64
  • Doom + Doom 2
  • Doom 3
  • Doom (2016)
  • Doom Eternal
  • Doom Eternal Year One Pass
  • 10% Off Coupon For Doom: The Dark Ages
  • 10% Off Coupon for Doom: The Dark Ages Premium Edition
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Particular standouts here are Doom and Doom Eternal, which I highly recommend playing before Doom: The Dark Ages, as the upcoming game acts as a prequel to the reboot. 2016’s Doom rebooted the relentless shooter series, bringing the Doom Slayer into the modern age with a bang. 2020’s Doom Eternal further built on this, adding more flesh-ripping weapons, disgusting new demons, and the series’ best soundtrack so far. What’s more, with the Doom Eternal Year One Pass, you get two campaign expansions, The Ancient Gods Part 1 and 2, which offer even more bloody fun.

If you prefer your Doom old school, this bundle has plenty for you, too, packing in Doom, Doom 2, and Doom 64 for a serious nostalgia trip. After all, there’s a reason the early Doom games were instrumental in pioneering the first-person shooter genre, and despite being a little dated, these games are still a lot of fun.

Not only is this a great opportunity for a Doom marathon, but it also offers you the chance to play through these excellent Wolfenstein games if you haven’t yet.

This Humble Bundle is raising money for charity Direct Relief, a non-profit that provides medical relief around the globe. You have until Sunday, May 11, 2024 to grab this hell-raising bundle.
