A study published in the academic journal Science has found that cutting off the horns of rhinos in Africa leads to a reduction in poaching of the endangered species. The study published Thursday found that dehorning rhinos led to a large reduction in poaching in game reserves in and around the Kruger National Park in northern South Africa. The results of the seven-year study are seen as the best evidence that removing rhinos’ horns does help them survive.
